behavior in vertical profiles of core samples in coastal sediment have been
considered as an effective indices finding out the historical trends of
pollution(Al-mur, Quicksall, Al-ansari, & Sea, 2017; Gao,
Wang, Li, & Chen, 2018; Veerasingam, Vethamony, Murali, & Fernandes,
toxicity and pollution sources (Archaimbault, Usseglio-Polatera, Garric, Wasson,
& Babut, 2010)and
chemical reactions in solid phase (Jourabchi, L’Heureux, Meile, & Cappellen, 2010)etc.

These kind of
studies can give authentic historical record of different influences in the oceanic
system by indicating both natural background level (Fukue et al., 2006)and the man induced
accumulation of elements over an extended period of time  (Buckley, Smith, & Winters, 1995)sediments are the primary
carrier of heavy metals in the marine environment due to the chemical-physical
properties, such as particle characteristics (Rath, Panda, Bhatta, & Sahu, 2009), furthermore, core sediments
also provides a historical record of heavy metal distribution over the time(Williams & Block, 2015). Levels of heavy metals in
bottom sediments can illustrate pre-industrial and it could be find out about
recent years pollutions from surface sediments in the costal environment (Ferati, Kerolli-Mustafa, & Kraja-Ylli, 2015). The coastal areas of Iran on
the Persian Gulf have been polluted by land-based activities in terms of
industry growth for many years(Pejman, Nabi Bidhendi, Ardestani, Saeedi, &
Baghvand, 2015).
Research with respect to trace elements in sediments can give helpful informations
for identifying sources of contamination in aquatic areas The Nayband Bay ,is an
Industrial area and is located near an important gas source area in the
Assaluyeh, North West Persian Gulf. Since past dacades, this Bay sediments were
severely polluted by Heavy metals which are came certainly from industrials(Ranjbar, Riyahi, Shadmehri, & Jadot, 2017). Too little information is
available due to small number of researches which is focused in the sediments
in Persian Gulf Area(Karbassi, 1998). Therefore, the aims of this
study were to (10) measure Heavy metals contamination in a core sediment, (2)
and assume the origin of these pollution and when it happens due to dating of
the sediment.
